Please read these Terms and Conditions fully and carefully before enrolling into one of Made for Documentary courses or purchasing templates. By purchasing one of our group mentoring programmes, courses or templates you agree to the following:
1. Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure
The Mentee understands that all Materials, including but not limited to, written course materials, price lists, contracts, financial documents, agreements, business methods and systems and other information, documents or spreadsheets or videos that are given to them in the course of the mentorship are the exclusive property of the Mentors and are privileged and confidential information. The Mentee shall not share, whether for compensation or not, the confidential Materials obtained from the Mentors to anyone unless required to do so by law.
As such, you agree to the following:
- you will not make visual or audio recordings during the lessons, image critiques or roundtables unless for personal study, use and review;
- you will not duplicate this Mentorship or lessons to teach your own workshop or courses nor teach Mentors' systems or methods to any other photographers or persons;
- you will not share copies of any Materials provided to you during lessons, including but not limited to course content, videos, contracts, spreadsheets or pricing structures;
- you will not verbally or in written form directly share the editing or shooting techniques and processes or business methods outlined in lessons and / or other Materials;
- you will not accept money to train others in the approaches, techniques or methods shared or learned in the lessons and / or Materials;
- you will not formulate Photoshop actions and/or Lightroom presets that emulate the processes described or learned in the lessons and / or Materials, except for personal use.
- you will not disclose to any third party login details provided to you in order to access the workshop/course/mentorship Materials;
- you will treat as confidential the business and personal information shared by other mentees in the Mentorship.
2. Non-Compete
The Mentee shall not compete as a photography mentor in the subjects covered by a mentored or self-paced course within eighteen months of the completion date of a mentorship or a self-paced course. This includes, but is not limited to, in-person, online, forum-based mentoring as well as digital products, whether for compensation or not.
3. Transfers/Refunds
3.1. Mentored courses
The Mentorship fee is non-refundable. No refund is available should you be unable to participate in the workshop or course. You can transfer your spot on the workshop/course/Mentorship to another person subject to the approval of the Mentors; this must be done at least a week before the start date of the workshop/course/Mentorship. Transferring is the responsibility of the Mentee.
Should Made for Documentary cancel the workshop/course/Mentorship for which you have registered (for example, if we do not sell a sufficient number of seats to run the course successfully) you will be refunded the fee(s) you have paid. No other compensation will be made.
3.2. Self-paced courses and downloadable templates
When you purchase an instantly downloadable digital product, including but not limited to templates and self-paced courses, you agree that it is a non-refundable purchase.
4. Schedule Changes
Every effort will be made by the Mentors to adhere to the workshop/course/Mentorship schedule, however the Mentors reserve the right to change the schedule and/or postpone the Mentorship sessions if necessary. No adjustment/proration of fees shall be applied if the schedule changes due to extenuating circumstances. Mentors will communicate the schedule and any adjustments to the schedule via email. If however due to extenuating circumstances the Mentors deem it necessary to end the Mentorship early without delivering the full schedule of advertised Materials, then an adjustment/proration of fees shall be applied.
5. Disclaimer
The Materials on the Made for Documentary website and learning platform are provided 'as is'. The Mentors make no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties, including without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights. Further, the Mentors do not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its website or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this site.
6. Resolution
The Mentee shall first approach the Mentors as to any issues related to the Mentorship. Failure to do so may result in termination of the Mentorship and forfeiture of all Mentorship fees.
7. Other
The Mentors shall be held harmless for any and all injury to Mentee and Mentee’s business and equipment during the course of the Mentorship and the immediately surrounding events.
Any advice given by the Mentors is from personal experience and is not a substitute for legal advice. The Mentors cannot provide legal advice.
8. Changes to these Terms and Conditions
The Mentors reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice. By using this website you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these Terms of Use.
